Locally in my observation and facts; there are still about 600 new cases per day in Nevada, and the positivity rate on tests for COVID is about 11%. That means about one person in ten HAS IT.
When we get on the bus to come to dialysis, and although masks are “required” to get on the bus, most days at least half of the people on the bus either have no mask, or are wearing it under their chin. And complaining about it. When it comes to the bus, we don’t have much choice about being crowded in much too close for social distancing. It’s pot luck, as always, sometimes you get a bus with fewer people, sometimes it’s crowded.
It’s the PERFECT environment for passing the virus. Enclosed area. Lots of people (without masks). Limited ventilation. And we share the space, in most cases, for well over 15 minutes.
If you get up and move away from someone without a mask, you hear people around you talking and laughing about you.
Not that I would ever wish anything bad on anyone, but I figure those people aren’t going to be a problem much longer.
Or maybe they will be joining us at the dialysis clinic for treatment since the last figure I saw was 30% of people hospitalized for COVID leave with significant kidney, heart, or lung damage.
It won’t kill you to pull that mask up over your nose and mouth and stay six feet away. It could kill you if you don’t. But hey, it’s your life.
Yep, I’ve disabled comments for this post and others in this group of posts. If you agree, a simple like gets that to me and thank you. If you don’t, you’re welcome to not read these posts. This post is made up of opinion and some facts and in this case it’s largely not really open to discussion. I, personally, don’t need the upset from people telling me how wrong I am. You know – it’s just how I feel and I have a right to feel this way and you have a right to disagree with me. I have a right to say, I’d rather not hear it. Shared with perfect love and perfect trust from one old soul who’s worried about the younger souls around me.
